Meet the Cast!

  • Mel Lute (Richard Hannay)

    Mel is pleased to play Richard Hannay in this production. Previously Mel has appeared in Matilda, Rumors, and Something Rotten here at NCP. Last year Mel appeared in “Disaster” and “A Christmas Carol” at the Akron Civic Theater. When not on stage, Mel practices law as a partner with Baker Dublikar Law Firm in North Canton and teaches martial arts.

  • Brittany Bailey (Margaret / Pamela)

    Brittany is thrilled to return to North Canton Playhouse, where she has been involved since 2017. Most recently, she played Karen in August: Osage County (2024) and Cassie Cooper in Rumors (2023). She first fell in love with theater while performing in shows at River Parishes Community Theater in Reserve, Louisiana, during high school. Offstage, Brittany spends time with her family—her husband, Chance, and their 14-year-old daughter, Cadence—usually hiking with their two Aussie dogs or visiting local coffee shops in Akron. She thanks her friends, family, and castmates for their support and hopes you enjoy the show!

  • Tracy Lemus Santos (Clown 1)

    Tracy has been a part of nearly 60 productions over the course of more than 35 years.  Whether onstage or behind the scenes, she truly enjoys every aspect of the artistic process. She brings this passion to her career as a 6th grade Social Studies and tries to make history come alive. In her spare time, she enjoys other creative expressions, reading and learning. Nothing compares to making cherishing memories  with her family.

  • Dave Huthmacher (Clown 2)

    Dave returned to the stage after his daughter Carly became involved in the NCP youth program. They appeared together in Night of the Living Dead (2016), after which Dave then joined the casts of Run For Your Wife (2018), The Diary of Anne Frank (2019), Rumors (2023), and August, Osage County (2024). Dave is the media specialist at Jackson Memorial Middle School and also plays bass guitar in the U2 tribute band: ONE.

  • Michelle May (Clown 3)

    Michelle is a wife, mother and is an office manager. She’s loves music, theater, sports and she plays and hosts live reality games like The Mole and Survivor.  She started her journey with the North Canton Playhouse in 1989, and has been participating in productions including the Curtain Up fundraisers over the years. Her most recent role was Ivy Weston during last year’s production of August: Osage County. She is thrilled to take on the challenge of 5 roles and different accents with a highlight of physical comedy. She deeply appreciates the support of her family and is honored to work with such an incredibly talented cast and crew.

  • Pat Downing (Clown 4)

    Pat is in his 34th year with Canton City schools as a math and technology resource teacher. He has coached HS soccer for 32 years, including the last 8 as head coach at Canton Central Catholic. His theater journey began in 2009 at NCP with his 18-year-old daughter Madeline. Since then, he has performed in over 20 shows with NCP, Avenue Arts, and Weathervane. Memorable roles include Trekkie Monster (Avenue, W), Charlie Aiken (August Osage County), Ernie Cusack (Rumors), and co-hosting fundraisers.
